HI,

mYy cool edit pro is playing up! When I go to convert/save as from was to mp3 file . It tells me that it is doing this but then saves it to something which has a .1 on the end. This of course is unplayable. It seems to have been this way since I accepted some .aiff files and tried to convert those to mp3.
The 'help' section which of course is anything does not identify the problem.but the closest it gets tells me to get rid of .flt files in the cool edit folder which I have also done to no effect.

Any advice would be helpful as I am getting mighty ****************

Thanks

JAMES

When you've saved the file, try renaming it from .1 to .mp3 and see if that plays.

I didn't think Cool Edit could do .MP3's ? Although I did hear about a plug in that may work.

My version 2 is before that technology was known.

I use Nero Wave Editor for that now.

Well I've used it for MP3 in the past, both for editing, saving and converting.

Unfortunately though my old version does not work correctly with Vista so I've had to uninstall it and am now using Audacity. Nowhere near as good a Cool Edit but it does what I need and it's free. smile
