Well unfortunately, unless the recording is available on a multi-track, there's no way of actually singling out the guitars. They could be enhanced slightly with graphic equalizer software as guitars are usually in the mid-range of the frequency spectrum at around about 800Hz. When you do this thought you will also enhance anything else that is in that range so subtlety is the key.
As for the actual recording, it depends on how it was recorded. If it was done via live microphone then you should have recorded exactly what was heard. If it was done through the mixing desk it is possible that the feed to the recorder was set differently to the feed to the speakers or had a noise gate active which would suppress certain frequencies at a predefined level.
