Hello Everyone,

I just found this site today. I must say it has alot of info that i can look at for a long time. I don't know if anyone has the same problem with spin it again. Everytime I record some music from my lp's to my computer and I try to replay. The file has some type of jitter skip. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or is there another type of recording program that I can use. Thanks Everyone.

It could be other applications causing this. See this FAQ and see if it makes any difference.

What's your PC spec? You may need to defragment your hard drive. If you've had the PC for a while and never done this then the current data on your drive will be fragmented which means that it is spread in different places on the drive and not all together. When you record a track from vinyl the recording software looks for gaps on the drive to save the info which will return jumps and skips.

Let us know what processor, OS, memory, hard drive size you have so we can get a better idea of what we're looking at.

Also, when you say it jumps / skips, is it like a skip on a record or a block of silence with part of the track missing? If it's a missing part then it could be something as simple as a bad connection so check your cables and connections amd make sure that there are no breaks in the cable or loose plugs.

I derfraged my pc and it's working much better now. SO I guess that's all that I needed. Is there another recording software to use?

There are quite a few out there.

I am finding that the Windows Media Player does quite a good job. You don't need fancy applications to get the sound to the PC, it's the subsequent editing app that needs to have enough features to produce a decent CD.

Nero Wave Editor does a reasonable job, there is the Magix Audio Cleaning Lab (or someting like that), then there is Adobe Audition for the serious.

All Sound Recorder XP is also very popular and includes an audio editor. Most audio recorders will do just that, record. Some have an additional sound editor built in but the advantage with Spin It Again is that it's an all-in-one start to finish package.
