Is it possible to open multiple Windows Media Player windows at the same time?

I'm trying to steam 2+ news channels, like picture-in-picture, but when I click the WMP shortcut it just goes back to the original player that is already open.

Nope does the same here - it must identify that it's already running.

I code a similar ploy into my apps to prevent 2 popping up if htey go mad with the mouse.

Can you run WMP and something else that does a similar job?
