Audio latency is the delay between the recorded input signal ( Line-In ), and the monitored output ( usually Line-Out ). This can cause problems when using multitrack recording software. As you listen to the first track you lay down the second but when you play them back they are not synchronised. The problem is usually down to the audio latency of the PC soundcard. Check the specification of your soundcard as it should list the latency threshold.
