Downloaded trial audiotools software (v5.39). Have transferred music to PC via 'mic in' on sound card on laptop (doesn't seem to be any other way in apart from usb ports). But can't figure out how to see if it worked. Do I have to have the 'paid version' to do this? All the windows thing seems to let me do is record... any advice would be appreciated.

So you mean you've recorded it to the laptop but you can't play it back on the laptop?

So, when you recorded it did it create a .wav file (of .mp3 file)?

If it did, when you click on it does it actually start to play and you hear nothing?

If so have a look at this FAQ .
