Alright I'm one who apprieciates listening to trance/techno etc. and I want the best sound quality for my money. I want to know if Audigy Value is the best way to go (I can get it for 40-50 bucks) if I am just going to listen through headphones (which I am currently in search for maybe some high end sonys or bose tri ports) the other Audigy packages come with more bells and whistles and some with an i/o hub that has 1/4 inch jacks. Im just using small jacks at the moment, does that effect sound quality at all?

Am I going to really be able to play music at 192kHz rather than 96 which I have right now, with an Audigy Value card and some high end headphones? If anyone has insight on this please send me an AOL Instant messanger message or email to Danzavair@hotmail.com, but I will try to check back here when I can. Thanks.

So you want a private consultation but you post on a public notice board - fat chance.

So for the benefit of all who visit this forum I'll answer your questions here and maybe you'll visit again maybe you won't.

First of all Audigy gear is domestic and you'll only get a decent sound if you go for professional gear. Any thing that uses mini-jacks is stymied from the start. Stereo [and for that matter [multi] channels need a +ve and -ve or rather ground feed each. In st.mini-jack and for that matter st.1/4"-jack the grounds are commoned and this is not good, mainly from a crosstalk point of view, doubling up of noise, ground loops etc etc. Nasty nasty things.

So the Audigy card can playback 24/192 - IF you have 24/192 files to playback.

If your listening back through headphones you do need very good quality gear, and source material,as the 'phones will exaggerate every hiss, hum and distortion.
