I'm needing some help to decide on a sound card (I have a Creative thinggy which is not good enough.)
I don't often listen to much on the computer but I do digitise vinyl and tape.
Also, I use a headphone/microphone to talk to relatives abroad using Skype.

Any suggestions

Which Creative "thingy" do you have? Although I'm not Creative's biggest fan the Audigy's do seem to work well for most applications (if you can get them working right).

I have the Audigy which is fine as long as you don`t want to do any software-based multi-tracking. The latency figure for the Audigy is too high. For simple playback of mono / stereo / 5.1 etc it`s more than adequate. It`s even qute good at MIDI (tho not as good as my Yammy XG keyboard smile )
