Anybody used this
CCleaner is a freeware system optimization tool. That removes unused and temporary files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster, more efficiently and giving you more hard disk space. The best part is that it's fast! (normally taking less that a second to run) and Free. smile

Cleans the following:
Internet Explorer
Temporary files, URL history, cookies, index.dat.
Firefox
Temporary files, URL history, cookies, download history.
Windows
Recycle Bin, Recent Documents, Temporary files and Log files.
Registry cleaner
Advanced cleaner to remove unused and old entries, including File Extensions, ActiveX Controls, ClassIDs, ProgIDs, Uninstallers, Shared DLLs, Fonts, Help Files, Application Paths, Icons, Invalid Shortcuts and more... also comes with a comprehensive backup feature.
Third-party applications
Removes temp files and recent file lists (MRUs) from many apps including Opera, Media Player, eMule, Kazaa, Google Toolbar, Netscape, MS Office, Nero, Adobe Acrobat, WinRAR, WinAce, WinZip and many more...
100% Spyware FREE

Hi,
I have been using this software for some time now and have encountered no problems whatsoever.
I seem to remember reading somewhere(?)that it ws much less "aggressive" than other similar cleaners and as such, was more compatible with XP

I can remember some years ago using a reg cleaner (not this one) - apart from the obvious it also removed any files and references to files that were 0k and totally trashed a number of applications that needed their initial empty files to work.

I allow Norton to do it's reg cleaning and never had a problem.

I already used it JW and it was fine m8

i have been using Regsupreme and will continue to use that, its just nice to try something else as a backup, especially as its Freeware.

The 1st time i used Regsupreme you wouldn't believe the c*ap it got rid of, made a difference to the speed afterwards i can tell ya.

would imagine this would have the same effect if you haven't used a cleaner before.
