Have various protection progs working but they're all sapping cpu power and make installing s/ware a nightmare [I'm too lazy/stupid to turn everything off].
So I wondering wot I actually need???

ZOnealarm and AVG7.0 natch, but what out of the following should I keep?
AdAware6.0
Spysweeper
Spybot SearchandDestroy
MS Antispyware
WinPatrol scottie dog

plus there's Firefox's popup blocker

Whats goona give me a lean sleek PCmachine

Answers on a postcard please, you know the address :smokin:

They reckon M$ Antivirus & Spybot & Adaware give a 80% - 87% cleanup rate when run together but as you say Sptbot and M$ Antivirus run behind the scenes stuff which takes resources.

AV & Firewall you got to have.

Anything else is surplus IMHO.
