Ok this is what i have decided on, your thoughts please

ATX Midi Tower Case
P4 2.4GHZ (Skt 478 533mhz FSB)+ cooler
Asus Pentium , 478, AGP4 , 533fsb , ONBS,4usb,m/board
64 DDR AGP4 Graphics Card
80GB IDE 7200rpm UDMA100 Hard Disc
DVD rom

No monitor as i'm waiting until the 17" TFT come down a bit.
Now the only thing i ain't sure about is the dvd rom, can't make me mind up between
Pioneer, Toshiba or Liteon

Any thoughts

I would prefer a larger case. They are easier to work with, especially when it comes to routing your cables out of the air-flow, and they tend to run cooler. It is also important that it has cut-outs for rear panel fans. Front/bottom case fans aren't nearly as important, unless you have a case design that sets the HD right in front of it.

What burner ?

And - I recently got a 15" TFT which has exactly the same screen size as my old 17" CRT.

Take a measure to the shops and try them.

You can get a nice Sony 15" TFT from Comet for £350 at the moment (PCWorld doing them for £399).

I got the HP f50s for £400 (cos the 15" Sony was £450 at the time) cry

I am taking the Liteon out of my old 1 and putting in the new one, then i'm gonna get a dual format dvd writer & dvdrom and stick in me old tower. cool

On the question of the monitor, i know what you mean m8, we have the 15" here and they don't look no smaller than a normal 17"..........But i did see a 17" TFT for £350 yesterday and with christmas coming up think it might be worth holding on for a month or so.
