What u need is a x-over connector, these are available in usb form or as Ethernet RS45 leads [if you have ethernet on both PCs that would b the quickest option].
PC-World [hawk spit] is the obvious place but they'll be expensive. Then again as this is probably a one off task, buy the cable from PCW use it then take it back for a refund saying it causes a conflict with your PCs and is therefore useless.

this but most computer suppliers'll 'ave'em. I suggest you buy a copy of Micromart tomorrow [it's out on Thursday] and browse the many ads there, I find Mm invaluable and it invariably has the cheapest prices.
If you are running XP on both machines, XP has a provision for export/import of settings/files/progs etc and lets u burn these to cdr on the old pc then input these cdrs on the newpc. A bit slower but cheaper as you only have the cost of cdrs to cover plus you can keep these as Backup.
