Bill, in most cases the firmware flash program should work under XP (and 2000) but check with the text file when you download it to see if there is an issue smile

wot it is I cant find the firmware on XP looked in propites and cant c it , Cheers frown

OK BT there are 2 ways to go about it...

First: Go to System Information in Start > Accessories > System Tools... Once here select Components on the left hand Window then choose CD-ROM. Near the bottom of the list that appears on the right will be a the drive ID, this will be the drives name etc, there will be a line of _____________ which should then be followed by the firmware revision... phew!

An easier way is to load up something like clone or nero and check there smile

I haven't managed to FIND components never mind use it ! Are you sure that it appears in XP ?
