I know you're gonna call me a lazy git but beleive me I've looked!
I want to convert batches of wavs [ie an album of say 12 songs] to mp3 at the best quality, I prefer Lame VBR. So I'd like a good prog for doing this preferably for free, and if I have to pay for it I'd like the best.
U guys are much better at this than me s'why I'm asking. I'm now getting a lot of CDs that won't rip using my default EAC due mainly to copycoding. I can get wavs sorted but it's batching to mp3 that's holing me up.

I've a feeling that I shoulda just PM'd Mystic for this biggrin

Thanks for all your help,

jW

Might have to shell out on this, don't mind but I would like to make sure I'm buying the best one and it must do Batch Processing.

Thanx for the help guys :-)

If you're going to purchase I'd recommend Acoustica MP3 To WAVE Converter PLUS. I bought a copy last week and think it's an excellent progrem.

Exactly, and it costs nothing to download and try it first.

They also do Acoustica Audio Converter Pro but it might be more than you need. All I wanted was an MP3 WAV batch file converter, preferably with shell integration like dBpowerAMP, which it has plus more besides.

Hey Man,

I too like CDex, and it comes ready to rock... Lame included. The alt- preset standard setting (VBR) produces very nice results hitting 320 kbps when needed, with a file size slightly larger than 192 kbps CBR encodes. But the final step is the most important.... MP3Gain.

So I take it from the reply in the Winamp thread that you're none the wiser. Have you got anywhere yet? Have you actually tried any of the products recommended?

Well I batch converted those .flacs to mp3vbrwith Audition1.5 today. It couldn't be easier and I can believe I had this facility all along. Makes having Audition even more worthwhile. Not sure whether the onboard vbr is lame? Can anyone enlighten me or point me in the direction of a plug in.

Incidently the files were the new Stones album and it's not bad for a buncha OAPs lol.
