Hi Guys, please help before I get the hammer out.
I have "aquired" a cd with all albums by a famous liverpool band, which seems to be in .wav format.
How do I select individual albums to burn to cdr.
Thanks and all the best.

I'm no audio expert by any means m8, but I can tell ya that it's highly unlikely that the albums are in .wav format. It's much more reasonable to assume that they're in mp3 format bud. In that case it would be a straightforward job for Nero, which will convert mp3 to wave when ya select /new compilation/audio smile

Erm.. unless ah, that comps got it's own player with all the lyrics etc... wink
...
then I give up frown

if you only have 1 cd with all the albums on it they will be in mp3 format, these are burned as data not audio cd's.

if this is the case, the albums should have been organised in a directory type of structure.

an audio cd will only contain on av 18 or so files (wav) i did 1 of the band you meen not long ago with 29 files (wav) on as there songs are only short.

if in mp3 format you can put disc in rom-drive, open nero point to rom drive and drag/drop your selections to burn.

if only 1 drive, it will be best to make folder on HD and copy to there, then use nero etc.

you can find out what format they are by right clicking 1 of the files in explorer and selecting properties, this will tell you if it is wav or mp3 type file etc.

hope this helps as i am only guesing to what you meen.

post back if any probs.

Thanks for the replies guys, ive tried the suggestions and found the following:-they really do seem to be in .wav format, there are 25 files(displayed with Windows Media Player icons),and when trying to drag and drop,I get message "nero supports only PCM wave files".
Confused...
Sorry to be a pest, but new to this, and thanks for your help

Greetings beekae, and welcome to the board smile

A few basic questions to start.

1. What Operating System are you running.

2. What CD Writer are you using.

3. What CD Recording Software do you have and

4. How many tracks are on a single CD? (and what CD is it?)

jeez i'm nosey!

Once we know the above m8, we can sort a solution for ya wink

Strange about having 250 files on 1 cd, all as WAV

Have you tried playing the files in WinAmp ?

If they won't play, try Copy and Pasting a file onto your harddrive, changing the file extension to MP3, and try playing them again in WinAmp.

If this time they play, use a program such as
CDex ro convert them to WAV before burning.

Hope this helps...

its impos to have 250 wav files on 1 cd, its pushing it even for that many mp3's, could be ra or rm files.

maybe if you post one of these files to me i can find out what they are and then be in a better position to sort out how to deel with them.

if you do i will post the results here on the forum so all will know outcome.

Just out of curiosity when you play it in Winamp is the 1st track named ABR.WAV
Short for abbey road

Just to clarify something...

Did you try to rip them to harddrive as WAV using CDEX or similar?

How did you get round this Gus?

Mine is the same one MB has got (25) tracks
It was a present wink
When you play it through Winamp the 1ST track is the complete album of abbey road.
178 kbps - 22 khz instead of the normal 128 - 44.
The files must have been compressed somehow.
Don't know how sorry m8 frown
It's got just about every album they made on one disc

hmm...

So it looks like we have a full album saved as 1 WAV file in a compressed format that we don't know about!

We know that once we can get these files on to HDD we can use a splitter program to "cut" the big file into individual tracks.

I'll have a look around...

Sorry m8, but it can't find any useful info about your disk frown

The only thing i could suggest is sending me a disk to look at.

It's up to you, and i can't promise anything.
