Came across this website and thought someone might be able to suggest software/equipment. I want to create loops using parts of songs from LPs. I've been reading about products on several websites but I can't tell for sure if they would be able to do what I want. I'd also like to do hard edits with zero time gap between 2 selections, stuff like that. And of course place all these masterpieces onto CDs. Any products out there that will do this for a price that's not too?

Apologies...put question on wrong website. So...What is best CD-R to use for HI-FI recordings. Tried TDK but no-go. IMATION seem v-good but new download from Nero (6-3-1-25) seems iffy. Q1. What make of CD-R. Q2. Write speed ? Burn speed ? (Think 16 and 8 seem good.) Is latest Nero update any good ? If not, what next...*****

Well first look in Nero CD Speed and identify who makes the discs. Extra-> Disc Info. CMC makes discs for lots of makers (Verbatim, Memorex, Imation etc.). What brand burner are you using? Have you updated the firmware. Almost all brands should work these days, but some may have a longer life. I usually burn at 24X.

I like and use Nero 63XXX, had bad luck with the latest, 66XXX. For most of my audio these days I use the free Burnatonce.

Many thanks,Mystic Eyes, I`ll try Verbatim again. Trouble is, you`ve got to buy a spool of 50 CD`s to get them at a worthwhile price and , you`re stuck, if you get an incompatible lot.{ I`ve got a special attachment to inkjet print direct to CD (Canon 4000) but the `printable` discs are more expensive than a plain disc plus a `Neato` label. It`s all extra expense to us poor, old aged pensioners ! *****

I didn't mean to infer that CMC were great discs, just that they are one of the biggest manufacturers. With Nero CD Speed you should be able to target the one's that you've burned sucessfully. Verbatim has used at least 4 different manufacturers.

You will find that many people have problems with stick on labels, and advise against using them.
